We ask for a bio so families and volunteers can get to know a little more about the amazing people who serve with LCH kids. Please write a short bio (3-5 sentences) that we can share with our team and famiies.
Feel free to include things like:
-Your name and what age group you serve with (can omit if not sure yet)
-What you love about kids or kids ministry
-Fun Facts, hobbies, or interests
-Anything that reflects your heart for serving
Example -yes, you can totally copy, paste and revise!:
Hi! I'm Taylor! I help with the preschool group and love creating space for little ones to be silly, curious, and loved. During the week, I work as graphic designer and spend most of my free time hiking or reading mystery novels. I've been part of LCH for two years and it's one of my favorite places to grow and serve.
Caring for our volunteers:
We believe that serving should feel life-giving, not draining. As you pour into kids and families, we want to pour into you too.
The following questions help us understand how to celebrate you, communicate well, and offer the kind of support that honors your personality, capacity, and calling.
Please note, we would like to share some of your preferences with the team, so as we serve together we are mindful and intentional of each other.
Serving from a place of Joy: What brings you life in serving others?
This could be a moment, a memory, or just a feeling you get when you serve or serve in a specific way.
Spiritual Growth + Support
At LCH Kids, we believe that ministry is most meanigful when we grow together. We don't expect perfection- we're a community that values authenticity, curiosity, and support as we follow Jesus together. As you help guide and care for the next generation, we'd love to come alongside you too.
Do you have any current circumstances (relationships, responsibilities, etc.) that mght affect your availability or consistency in this season?
This helps our ministry leaders schedule with wisdom, offer grace where needed, and support you as a whole person. We know life changes and we want to walk with you through it, as much as you're comfortable with.

Serving Rhythms
Our vision in LCH Kids is to widen and deeper our volunteer span in order to serve all kids well each and every Sunday. That means, we believe in systems designed for the needs of our people and that includes volunteers!
As you prayerfully provide us information regarding your availability rhtyhms, please keep the following in mind:
-You will be sent scheduling requests based on your selections seasonally following a new volunteer onboarding. This means you will be sent requests to serve up to 3-4 months in advance.
-You will always have the opportunity to accept (in good faith) or decline scheduling requests based on your updated availability. We ask that you respond to scheduling requests as soon as possible.
-Should you need to decline a schedule request, you will be able to pick up a different serving opportunity as it aligns or swap with another volunteer.
-You will be able to block-out specific dates you are unavailable to serve, like vacations so we can plan around it.
Volunteer Accommodations or Family Preferences
We want serving with LCH Kids to feel joyful, life giving, and sustainable. Please let us know if you have any accommodations, family considerations or preferences we should be aware of as we mindfully plan and steward our team scheduling and service model.
We want to know things like:
-I need to arrive a few minutes after service starts
-I prefer to serve with/without my spouse or family member
-I'd love a quiet task or behind the scenes role
-I'm balanceing young kids so a light or flexible schedule is best.
